As students transition from Timbarra to their new schools, they'll soon need to make choices about their Year 10 subjects. Depending on their chosen pathway and future ambitions, students might even have the chance to pick Year 11 subjects (Unit 1 and Unit 2) to complete while in Year 10. Before getting into Year 11 VCE subjects, the schools will assess whether the students are ready for those subjects. One way they'll do this is by looking at PAT Reading and PAT Maths scores, which help gauge students' literacy and numeracy skills.

Timbarra wants to offer students the choice to take the optional PAT Reading and PAT Maths tests on Wednesday, August 16th. Students can take the PAT Reading test during their regular Homeroom lesson (Period 2), and there's also an opportunity to sit for the PAT Maths test after school from 3:20 to 4:00 pm.

We encourage students to consider taking these assessments as they can provide useful insights for their subject choices and future academic pursuits. If you have any questions or need more information, feel free to contact myself or your child's English or Maths teacher.
