Tuesday
To celebrate our Year 4 Inquiry Based Learning topic 'First Contacts', our students will have the pleasure of exploring indigenous perspectives through ‘paint and yarn’ sessions. The Wanyara group will run the two hands-on incursion sessions, allowing our students to participate in an enriching indigenous cultural experience through the following: Paint Using Traditional Aboriginal artwork to connect with creativity, symbology, and cultural history. Learn how to tell your story through Aboriginal art and collaborate as a class to create a meaningful mural. Yarn Traditional Storytelling. Yarns are deeply meaningful and an integral part of the transferring of knowledge in Indigenous culture. Yarn sessions combine cultural practices, languages, laws, stories and songs to help understand Indigenous Australians. |
