Thursday
To celebrate our Inquiry Based Learning unit 'Lets Discover The World!', students will participate in an excursion to Polly Woodside on Thursday the 9th of November. The students will be involved in a facilitated session onboard Melbourne's famous Tall Ship, 'The Polly Woodside'. The session includes a range of hands-on activities and engaging experiences from using the capstan, to hauling sails, scrubbing decks and learning the fine arts of navigation. The excursion includes entry to the Gallery and a film about the life of George Andrews and his journey aboard the ship. The students will travel by bus to and from the excursion. Students will be required to be at their classroom at 8:40am so that we can depart Timbarra at 9:00am sharp. We will return to school by 2:30pm and students will be dismissed from their classroom at 3:10pm. Students will be required to bring 1 small disposable bag (plastic bag/paper bag) that is clearly labelled with their name and class, that includes their play lunch, fruit snack and a drink in a disposable bottle. Please make sure your child has adequate recess and fruit to last them until we return to school for a later lunch. Please pack their lunch separately, in their regular lunchbox, this will stay at school and be eaten when we return. |
